Dr. Michael P. Akemann has been engaged in economic research and consulting for the past twenty-five years.
He is an expert on damages issues in intellectual property (IP), antitrust, and other complex commercial litigation matters. He is also an expert on public interest, domestic industry, and tailored remedies issues in Section 337 matters before the US International Trade Commission (ITC). In addition, he has substantial experience analyzing antitrust liability and class certification issues, with a particular focus on exclusive dealing and other vertical restraints.
Dr. Akemann has testified in US federal courts and California state courts on IP damages; fair, reasonable, and nondiscriminatory (FRAND) considerations; antitrust matters; and other commercial damages issues. He has also testified on public interest, domestic industry, and tailored remedies issues on matters before the ITC; and on FRAND-related issues before the Shenzhen (China) People’s Intermediate Court.
