A Warning From Drucker: Japan Cannot Change If It Keeps 'Doing Things Right'

In an interview for Nikkei Business, David Teece discusses Peter Drucker’s ideas in relation to dynamic capabilities and how they differ from conventional management studies. He argues that simple, practical models are more useful for dynamic capabilities and that while Japanese companies are good at making improvements (kaizen), they are less adept at making the dramatic changes required for major innovations.
