Identifying and investigating market manipulation can be a challenge, but regulators have focused increasingly on investigations of alleged market manipulation and fraudulent market schemes. We explored what types of trading activity constitute “spoofing” and other forms of manipulation, how to identify and investigate it, and how it has evolved over time.
