Brian Hoyt will co-present with Marilyn Lamar (Liss & Lamar PC) and Kathy Roe (The Health Law Consultancy) on “There’s an API for That: EHI Interoperability and Access” on Friday, November 6. They will review the final rule CMS published in May 2020 to promote electronic health information (EHI) interoperability and individuals’ access to their EHI via a health plan application programming interface (API). The panelists also will evaluate the companion final rule that the HHS Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) published promoting EHI interoperability and prohibiting information blocking. The session will review how these CMS and ONC rules will affect health plans differently.
